You want to migrate to Google Analytics 4 (GA4) sooner, rather than later

Google Analytics announced that they are sunsetting Universal Analytics, the platform most businesses are using for their marketing data, on July 1, 2023.

Although that may seem far away, the data infrastructure is completely different, so if you want to use historical data (and you likely should be using it in your strategic decision-making), you need to be collecting that data in GA4.

GA4 is a significant level-up for web analytics. It was designed for how people use digital platforms today— it doesn’t rely exclusively on cookies for tracking, it considers how traffic flows between platforms (websites & apps), it has added data privacy features, and it centres measurement on events, what people are doing on your platforms, instead of just the fact that they’re there.

If you’re investing time and money into your digital marketing efforts every month, you need data to measure performance and ROI. If you’re currently relying on Universal Analytics for that data, your time is running out and you need to make a switch.

Custom-tailored GA4 migration services

Our team of analytics specialists will tailor our project to your specific business & data needs. If all you need is technical support getting the platform set up & firing properly— we can do that. If you want some training on how to navigate and use GA4, or you don’t think that you’re not using your marketing data as effectively as you could be, we can help with that too.

At the very least we’ll send you away with a completely set-up and optimized GA4 platform, with some customized dashboards bringing your most important metrics into one place.

What do your GA4 migration packages include?
All our migration services include:
  • A complete audit of your existing Universal Analytics and Google Tag Manager platforms
  • Migration of your existing events, conversions, and any custom metrics or dimensions into your new platform.
  • A complete done-for-you configuration and optimization of yoru Google Analytics 4 platform, including setting up of any needed tags, triggers, and variables in Google Tag Manager.
  • Development of a custom Google Data Studio dashboard incorporating your priority performance metrics.
  • A video recording walkthrough of your GA4 account and Google Data Studio dashboard highlighting your most important features and reports.
  • 1-month of support via email for any questions or changes that arise after your setup.
The following are often added to projects:
  • Development of a Marketing Data Systems strategy where we consult with your business leadership team on what data setup is required based on the key business questions you need to be answered, we propose a plan and work with you to prioritize the scope, and then incorporate additional deliverables into the implementation of your GA4 setup.
  • Set up of conversion tags in Google Tag Manager for Meta Ads, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and more.
  • Development of additional custom Data Studio dashboards for deeper analysis, troubleshooting, or marketing optimization needs.
  • For custom websites or SaaS businesses: design and preparation of code for a dataLayer if the website.
What does the investment & timeline look like?

For a simple GA4 migration project where we’re just tackling the back-end technical work, projects start at $1200 CDN + GST and take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete.

For SaaS or custom-built websites that require the configuration of a custom dataLayer, projects start at $4500 CDN and take 2-3 months.

We connect all your marketing data, including:

Sorry but... your DIY Google Analytics setup isn’t enough

We wish it was as simple as adding a few lines of code to your website to get all the metrics— but the out-of-the-box configuration for Google Analytics will only take part of the way there.

If you want to use data to level up your marketing strategy, there is no 'easy button'.

If you want to know things like…

  • Which channels are resulting in form submissions or email subscriptions
  • If people are scrolling down your sales page or dropping off near the top
  • How far down your sales funnel your audience is getting, and where they’re dropping off
  • What happens when that traffic from email marketing, paid ads, or QR codes comes to your website

Unless someone manually sets up tracking for that inside your Google Analytics account— those questions will remain a mystery, and your marketing strategy will only be as good as the data you have to inform it.

That’s where we come in!

“I was so confused with where to put my energy and how to organize the details of my marketing, but working with Ally from Akari Digital was so helpful. She guided me through what was most important for my business and provided feedback and support every step of the way. She took me from frustrated, confused, and overwhelmed, and set me on a clear path for growth. After 2 months of working together, I hit my first revenue goal and the numbers keep improving!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Let’s get you some answers

How will this fit into what you're already doing?

We design our packages to plug into and work alongside your existing marketing priorities. Our goal is to set success metrics for what you’re already doing, and make sure that you are tracking everything you should be to get an accurate picture of your marketing performance.

So ultimately, we’ll take what you’re already doing, and give it a level-up so you can double down on what’s working, and re-evaluate things that might be draining your resources for a limited ROI.

How do you know if you need to migrate to Google Analytics 4?

If you're currently using Universal Analytics (your tracking ID starts with "UA-") your data will stop working on July 1, 2023.

If you use your data to inform your marketing, you will want to be collecting data in Google Analytics 4 before then so you have some historical data to compare against.

You already connected Google Analytics 4 to your website— isn't that enough?

We wish it was as simple at adding a few lines of code to your website to get all the metrics— but the out-of-the-box configuration for Google Analytics will only take you half of the way there.

You’ll know how many people are on your website, what pages they’re visiting, and maybe some of the actions they’re taking— but you won’t be able to measure conversions, how your audience progresses through your funnels or checkouts, or accurately attribute conversions to channels like email, paid ads, or QR codes.

Plus, you’ll be digging through their default reports which are quite limited and don’t contain all the information you need to make strategic decisions.

It’s amazing that you already have the basic connection set up, but we need to do a bit more work to get you the data you need.
